Nicolás Rivas
Nicolás Rivas (1987) is an Argentinian and Berlin-based photographer and filmmaker exploring the poetics of the abstract.
His work is motivated by the idea of telling stories and moments through the power of the gaze and camera. Focusing his poetics on art as an escape route, through the contemplation of time and the staging of the body. He exhibits and develops photographic, narrative and performance projects, in which the suspended geometry of light and space are portrayed. Colors, landscapes and shapes from many destinies of the world rise to spaces of an almost fictional reality.
He's been narrative montage teacher at the University of Buenos Aires for seven years and an editor of series, documentaries and short films. Also grew up and continues working within the advertising world, alongside renowned teams and clients. Nicolás has exhibited work in Barcelona, Germany and Argentina, he's been published and won photographic and cinema awards as the Minimalist Photography Awards or the Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona, L'Alternativa, among other mentions.

Nicolás Rivas (1987) es fotógrafo y realizador audiovisual argentino radicado en Berlín explorando la poética de lo abstracto.
Su trabajo está motivado por contar historias y momentos a través del poder de la mirada y la cámara. Con su poética centrada en el arte como vía de escape, da forma a la contemplación del tiempo y la puesta en escena del cuerpo. Exhibe y desarrolla proyectos fotográficos, narrativos y performáticos, en los cuales retrata la geometría suspendida de la luz y el espacio. Colores, paisajes y formas de diversos destinos del mundo dan lugar a espacios de una realidad casi ficticia.
Ha sido profesor de montaje narrativo en la Universidad de Buenos Aires durante siete años y editor de series, documentales y cortometrajes. También creció y continúa trabajando creativamente en el mundo publicitario, junto a equipos y clientes de renombre. Nicolás ha expuesto su obra en Barcelona, Alemania y Argentina, ha publicado y ganado premios de fotografía y cine como los Minimalist Photography Awards o el Festival de Cine Independiente de Barcelona, L'Alternativa, , entre otras menciones.
